The Rundown:  Matt’s attempts to balance his life run into a snag in the form of a gang war.

Matt Murdock is finding that being both a superhero and a law professor are difficult when one of his students takes him to task for constantly being late and the woman he is interested in chides him for being bored with his new position. At the same time, Owl decides to find a dramatic way to get the attention of the man without fear.

Daredevil races to the scene of a hostage situation only to find that Owl has faked the incident to get Matt’s attention. After telling him about a book from Fisk that could contain valuable and dangerous information, Daredevil finds himself racing to find it as the other gangland factions in the city tear up the city looking for it themselves. A move that will get the attention of a familiar face.

The Story: Phillips creates some great drama and tension throughout this issue. I love the immediacy of the action and adventure within it as well as Matt’s struggles with his dual roles. There is awesome action throughout the story, but Phillips does a great job of balancing that action and pacing with Matt’s issues and bringing everything together for a cliffhanger ending that is bound to cause more drama for both Matt and Daredevil.

The Art: Flaviano crafts some beautifully detailed and visually exciting art throughout the issue. There is a lot of action in the story and the art beautifully reflects the movement of the character as well as the intensity of the action itself.
