The Rundown: Beast struggles with the reality of their new foe as Magento searches for comfort.

Magento decides that he needs to find some peace and makes his way to synagogue to find it with Magik who gets a call to return to the base because Beast needs to tell her something important. He reveals that the leader of 3K is another version of himself and that he met with the “Chairman” when he was being recruited by the organization.

An attack on the base leads the X-Men to gather to defend their home from unknown forces being led by a familiar face as Magneto is confronted by the Chairman who needs something from the mutant in order to make the next phase of his plans work.

The Story: MacKay creates an entertaining and thoughtful story in this issue. I really loved the moments between Magik and Hank as they discuss the dark sides of their nature. The meeting between Hank and the Chairman is filled with great tension and the story builds to a great cliffhanger that makes me excited to see where the story goes next.

The Art: Daniel creates some beautifully detailed and visually exciting art throughout the issue. I really love the imagery and the character designs as well as the splash page of the attackers.
