The Rundown: As the Federation lies in ruins, Kirk decides to make one last sacrifice.

With the Federation in shambles, the Emerald Chain makes its final move to not only incapacitate the Omega but also stop Agnes. With the ship trapped and Agnes down, Sato is helpless as he watches Solara and the Chain dismantle the remaining worlds of the Federation and form their own coalition.
Kirk feels the effects of the weapon on the nanites within himself and decides the best course of action is to remove the threat through sacrifice. With everything the Federation has created falling apart around him, Sato must make a difficult decision about what he can salvage and who he can save.
The Story: Lanzing and Kelly create some dark, thrilling and intense moments throughout this issue. The writers absolutely know these characters, especially Kirk and his motivations are typically him. I really like the buildup of tension and suspense throughout the issue and there are so many moments of betrayal and darkness that pulled me in and kept me engaged. I cannot wait to see where this story goes next.
The Art: Bonilla delivers beautifully detailed and visually exciting art throughout the issue. I love the style of this series.
