The Rundown: Years after the nightmare of the Event Horizon, a new mission will find the ship.

In 2040, the starship Event Horizon disappeared. Seven years later, it returned possessed by a demonic entity. After murdering its rescue crew, it was blown in half, with the front of the ship left yearning for its heart: a gravity drive designed for interdimensional travel. Two hundred years later, a billionaire brings his own private star fleet to the wreckage around Neptune. He’s heard stories of the Event Horizon and will gleefully sacrifice any number of employees to uncover its secrets!
The Story: Ward crafts a dark, thrilling and intense story in this first issue. It begins in darkness and suspense and continues to ramp up those things throughout the story as the reader meets the new characters as well as some familiar faces. I really enjoyed the tone of this first issue and how you know who the villain is at the beginning but have no idea the lengths he will go and what he has up his sleeves for the characters. There are some truly intriguing surprises throughout this issue and I cannot wait to see what happens next.
The Art: Carey delivers some beautifully dark and intense imagery throughout the issue and the tone of the art brilliantly matches the tone and mood of the story.
