The Rundown: The Omega begins to gather its crew as its newest member question his place in the future.

James Kirk has returned 700 years into the future in the wake of an event known as the Burn. Questioning whether the memories he has are really his, Kirk is confronted by Captain Sato who tells him how he is needed in this new era as the Omega brings on new members of the crew before they begin to set sail.
As the crew comes aboard, many with secrets they hold close to the chest, the ship receives intelligence that a group of Klingon ships are in trouble. As Jurati activates their Borg created transwarp drive, the Omega leaps into action only to find itself in the middle of a trap by a group of Klingons who have decided to return to the old ways. As the crew fight for their lives, Kirk decides to join them.
The Story: Lanzing and Kelly craft a thrilling adventure in this story. The plot is brilliantly dark and I love the existential angst of all of the characters, especially Kirk. He is a man out of time and the circumstances of his return add some interesting and compelling elements to the story that I look forward to seeing play out. His presence is interesting throughout as he seems to shift his perspective based on moments from his past and it will be interesting to see what that means for the rest of the crew.
The Art: Bonilla delivers some beautifully detailed and visually impressive art throughout the issue and I love the imagery and character designs.
