The Rundown: Aida learns more about the people who held her and her search for her mother will reveal more than anyone imagined.

Brother Reilly is brought before the headmaster who is desperate to find Aida even though Vasha has been seriously injured. At the same time, Aida is brought to Dr. Ehrman who explains more to her about not only the shard, but also the school that she was being held in and that it isn’t the only one. Overwhelmed with all the information, Aida can only think about finding her mother.

The other members of the Corrupted return with her to where she was discovered, but they all discover quickly that the Headmaster is on their trail and a fierce battle rages with the Headmaster using a demonic beast to attack them all. When Aida unleashes the power within her, she not only discovers just how powerful she can be, but also what the school is doing to her fellow students.

The Story: Marquez crafts some thrilling, entertaining and interesting moments throughout this issue. I love the expansion of the lore in this issue and how it forces Aida to think about things differently. I like that there are morally grey moments throughout this issue and that motivations still remain a mystery for some. I really liked the reveal at the end of this issue and look forward to seeing what happens next in this story.

The Art: Marquez delivers stunning art throughout the issue. I love the visuals, the anime style of the characters and the dynamic, bombastic action.
