The Rundown: The Thundercats find another ally while the Mu’tants bait them into a trap.

Cheetarah reveals her past with the Thundercat known as Bengali as he lies in their medical bay unconscious. As they prepare a place for him in the Cat’s Lair, he awakens and tells them how he made it to Third Earth. At the same time, Mumm-Ra is confronted by the ghost of Jaga and vows to destroy the Thundercats.

When the Thundercats are alerted to the location of Slithe, Cheetarah summons her forces along with Bengali to confront him and bring him in. Unfortunately, they discover that Slithe is working with others and they barely escape his trap with the help of Lion-O from the future.

The Story: Shalvey continues to craft an entertaining story in this issue. As much as I enjoy seeing these characters come together and how intertwined their backstories are, I worry that the story is branching too far out to keep its emotional edge. I find myself caring less about the characters and their journey because I keep waiting for the next reveal and it is the interpersonal conflicts that I connected with in the first place. Also, the absence of Lion-O is becoming an issue for me as a reader.

The Art: Moss delivers beautifully detailed and visually powerful art throughout the issue.
