At this point we don’t know if it’s going to be “Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian”, but Warner Brothers has brought in a new writer to rewrite the script for the long developing sequel. Rememory screenwriter Mike Vukadinovich has been brought in to breathe new life (so to speak) into the horror comedy that was directed by Tim Burton and starred Michael Keaton in the lead role.

No deals have been made for either Burton or Keaton to return, but the duo is working on the live action Dumbo movie for Disney and they have expressed excitement at the prospect of collaborating on a sequel. Mike Vukadinovich has also been working with Disney on a live action version of Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride as well as writing episodes of the Marvel series Runaways for HULU.
